The registration of an agent shall be applied for by an insurer or an insurance broker in terms of Section 19 (3) of the Act. Agents could be individual agents (Directive 5 (2)) or corporate agents (Directive 5 (3)). The registration of an agent shall be subject to the provisions of section 19, 54 and 64 of the Act and Directive 5 of the Insurance Directives, 2008.
